Art Program Developer and Facilitator

Hillel Academy of Denver. 2022-present. I am currently in charge of developing and facilitating the curriculum for the art program where I teach students grades second through eighth basic skills and foundations for creating art. My responsibilities include maintaining an engaging and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to practice and experiment in the art making process, while also ensuring they have access to the necessary supplies and instruction necessary to meet state education standards and requirements. I work closely with administration to stay within the department’s budget, and manage ordering and inventory for the department.

General Studies Assistant Kindergarten Teacher

As an assitant to kindergarten, I aid in the fascilitation of creating a safe, enriching, and engaging environment for early-childhood development. My responsibilities include classroom management, engaging students according to individual needs, and the development of reading, math, motor-skills, and social skills. Strong communication skills between myself, my superior, and my administration team ensures our students recieve the care and expertise necessary to thrive both academically and socially.

Artist, Content Creator, Designer, and Program Development, and Facilitator

D. Gyles Art & Design, LLC, 2019-present. I am committed to making art healing, fun, inclusive, and accessible. I combine my passion for people and art making through my personal art practice and business venture at D. Gyles Art and Design. Working with my own practice has allowed me the opportunity to learn many invaluable skills such as marketing and sales, social media content creation, customer/client relations, website design and maintenance, project collaborations, organizing and facilitating group workshops, and developing program material. Art should be for everyone regardless of age, skill level, or background, and it brings me great joy to create spaces where this is possible. I am skilled in many art making disciplines, and work closely with my clients to ensure I am creating a product that goes above and beyond their expectations, or a work of art that will become a family treasure to be passed down for generations to come.

Fifth Grade General Studies Instructor

Hillel Academy of Denver, 2021-2023. As a general studies instructor, I was required to ensure students were being taught in accordance to Colorado education standards for the subjects of reading, language arts, social studies, science, and math. Students at Hillel have a total of 3 hours, 4 days a week to be taught general studies, therefore it was imperative for me to develop a curriculum where I could integrate subjects in order to maximize learning opportunities and exposure to new material. I was also in charge of facilitating and managing a safe and engaging learning environment, teaching new material in an effective manner, providing individualized support and instruction according to student needs and abilities, communication between admin and parents to ensure student’s success, and developing curriculum from the ground up. I worked closely with a career coach for classroom management, curriculum building, and instructional planning.
